Near the village of Ternovka, southeast of
Mangup, the remains of two medieval monasteries have been preserved. This is a small cave monastery Shuldan dating back to the end of the 8th century. From the monastery complex, a temple with a baptismal and a bishop's chair in an altar carved into the rock has been preserved. On its walls, traces of painting are still visible, which date back to the 12th-13th centuries. During the Mongol-Tatar invasion, the monastery was destroyed.
