Simultaneously with Shuldan (VIII century), a more significant Chelter cave monastery arose. It has more than 50 caves arranged in four tiers. The ground buildings that stood on the slopes have not been preserved. During the Mongol-Tatar invasion, both monasteries were destroyed.
