Waterfall Dzhur-Dzhur

Waterfall Dzhurdzhur
Crimea, Alushta
The Dzhur-Dzhur waterfall is the most powerful and uniquely picturesque waterfall in the Crimea. It does not dry out even in the driest years. In a gloomy gorge, the Ulu-Uzen river runs down a three-cascade rapid, falling from a height of a hundred meters. From a limestone ledge 15 m high, water falls in a wide 5-meter sheer stream into a deep pit, and from there rushes into the riverbed.

The waterfall fully justifies its name (the Greeks called it Kremasto-Nero - "hanging water"): it does not rumble, does not make noise, but it murmurs, water jets do not fall rapidly, but seem to slide down, breaking at the foot of the ledge and forming in icy dust playing rainbow.

The grandiosity and severity of the surrounding mountains, the foamy jets of Dzhur-Dzhur, colored by the rays of the sun and beautifully standing out against the greenish background of rocks covered with moss, fascinate the traveler; far away the sound of falling water is heard ...

Walking from the Dzhur-Dzhur waterfall upstream for about a kilometer, you can see a whole series of picturesque rapids-cascades. The most beautiful of them are the upper ones - the penultimate and last ones, about 30 and 60 meters high.
Nearby is the Dzhur-Dzhur cave, 750 m long. And around is an old high-stemmed forest of beech, hornbeam, mixed with oak, linden, mountain ash, dogwood, hazel. The twilight of the beech valley harmonizes with the gloomy cliffs of the surrounding mountains. Of particular scientific value in the reserve are sections of the old 200-year-old forest of sessile oak, Crimean pine groves.

We drove by car to the village next to the waterfall. Then they rented a UAZ. The place is the most beautiful. Water is cold. The photos turn out great. Definitely worth a visit to this waterfall. A more beautiful waterfall was not met in the Crimea. If you climb a little higher, then there are several pools where you can swim. A mountain river flows. There are places where you can stop with a tent.

We visited this waterfall as part of a guided tour. Beautiful, tall, full-flowing. There are two entrances to it, we decided to take a walk through the forest, along the river. Impressions are the most exciting. There are places for picnic and rest, benches for pensioners : ))) The waterfall is a must to visit, I liked it even more than the beach : )

Were on the tour. I advise! The waterfall is beautiful, the road to the waterfall is through the forest, I advise you to take comfortable shoes, I went in flip flops - my feet slipped. The guide talked about the bath of youth, but did not dare to take a dip - the water is very cold, 8 degrees.
