Zaporozhye oak
Zaporozhye oak
Ukraine, Zaporizhzhia
Zaporozhye oak grows in the western part of the city. Its age is more than 700 years, its height is 36 meters, and the girth of the trunk is more than 6 meters. It is believed that Bogdan Khmelnitsky rested in the shade of this legendary tree. And in 2001, a historical and cultural center of the same name was opened next to it. Since the end of the 20th century, the oak has begun to dry, and now botanists are fighting to save it.
