Zaporozhye Children's Railway was opened on May 19, 1972. It is located in the Kommunarsky district, consists of eight stations and has a length of 9.4 kilometers, which makes it the largest children's railway in Ukraine. It operates all year round: on Sundays, the train runs 8 times a day, and during school holidays, the road is additionally open from Wednesday to Saturday. Near the central station Zhovtnevaya there is a zoo, an aquarium and a terrarium.
