The Preobrazhensky Bridge consists of two arched two-tier bridges connecting the two banks of the Dnieper and
Khortitsa Island. It was built in 1952 and named after the architect of the building, Boris Preobrazhensky. The four-arch bridge across the New Dnieper is 560 meters long, and the one-arch bridge across the Old Dnieper is 228 meters. Bridges play a huge role in the transport system of the city.
