The Kyiv hydroelectric power station was built in 1964 and became the first reinforced concrete power plant on the Dnieper. The complex includes a power plant building, a concrete spillway dam, a shipping lock and a motorway. The station is the most important node of the energy system of Ukraine, providing electricity to the capital and other settlements.
