The railway station building in Zhmerinka is one of the most beautiful in Ukraine. Zhmerinka station arose in 1865 in connection with the construction of the South-Western Railway, in 1892 it became a hub. In 1899, architects V. Rykov and Z. Zhuravsky designed a new station in the Ukrainian Art Nouveau style. The station was put into operation in 1904, but the construction was completed in 1911. The building was erected in the form of a floating ship, with walls with colonnades finished in the Renaissance style, with a hall for dignitaries, the so-called. "Royal Hall" with a separate exit to the platform. A fountain was arranged on the square in front of the station, which has not survived. From 2001 to 2011, there was a monument to Ostap Bender with chairs at the station. During the complete restoration of the station in 2011-2013, the monument to Bender was dismantled.
