Vitoslavsky Palace
Palace of Vitoslavskys
Ukraine, Vinnytsia
The Neo-Gothic palace in the village of Chernyatyn, along with a landscape park, was founded in 1814 by the Polish crown convoy officer Ignatius Witoslavsky. The palace was built in several stages: first, the southern wing was erected in the neo-Gothic style with a decorative round tower, then the second wing of the palace with elements of the Renaissance and classicism was completed. In the second half of the 19th century, the Vitoslavsky family went bankrupt, and the estate was sold to Maria Mikhailovna Lvova in 1865. Her initials are on the wrought-iron openwork gate leaves, and the coats of arms of Vitoslavsky are preserved in the vestibule and above the main entrance.
The decoration of the palace is a banquet hall, a round living room, Dutch tiled stoves, walls and ceiling decorated with stucco, white marble lions installed at the stairs, stone vases with carvings, a Gothic-style chapel. More than a hundred species of trees and shrubs grow in the park with an area of 31 hectares, there is a cascade of ponds. The building currently houses an agricultural college.
