Bunker Voroshilov
Bunker of Voroshilov
Ukraine, Vinnytsia
Voroshilov's bunker - the former command post of the fortified area that covered Vinnitsa, is located in a rock on the banks of the Southern Bug. KP "Southern Bug" or "Rock" was built in 1931-36 under the guise of building a military sanatorium, which is located on a rock. The complex of underground premises consisted of 28 rooms for various purposes, including a dining room and a bathhouse. In 1941, the bunker served as the command post of the Southern Front. During the German occupation, the Headquarters of Field Marshal V. Keitel was located here. In 1982, the bunker lost its military significance, was abandoned and looted.
Since 2003, the complex has been owned by the Orthodox Church; the Holy Trinity Rock Church was founded here. The church of the monastery under construction is located in the former checkpoint of the former secret facility. A visit to the bunker is possible only with the permission of the rector of the temple.
