Peter and Paul defensive church - until 1996 - the Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary in Berezhany, was built in 1600-1620 and was part of the city fortifications. It had two defense towers and loopholes in the walls around the church. In 1679-85, the church, partially destroyed by the Turks, was reconstructed, the external appearance was supplemented with Gothic elements. In 1741, one defensive tower was dismantled, the second was rebuilt into a bell tower.
In Soviet times, a warehouse was placed here, then a sports hall was opened. In 1996, the temple was returned to the Roman Catholic community of the city and consecrated in honor of Saints Peter and Paul. In the underground tier of the church are the burial places of Nikolai Jerome and Adam Nikolai Senyavsky from the family of the founders of Berezhany.
