Uritsky rocks
Ukraine, Stryi
A unique natural attraction in the Lviv region, near the village of Urych. Experts estimate the age of the Uritsky rocks at 55 million years. The rocks are “composed” mainly of quartz sandstones; as a result of tectonic movements, they “became” vertical, acquiring bizarre shapes over time. The rock complex is divided into seven groups, each of which has its own name. The most significant of them is the so-called Stone group with a height of 87 meters. In some rocks there are caves - both natural and man-made, as well as grottoes, wells and underground passages. The fact is that in the XI-XII centuries there was an ancient Russian fortress Tustan, from which only ruins remained.
