Salt mines of Soledar
Ukraine, Soledar
Soledar (in 1965-1991 Karlo-Libknekhtovsk) is a small town of regional importance in the Donetsk region. It is known primarily for its salt mines, where in Soviet times up to 40% of the all-Union rock salt production and 88% of Ukrainian production were mined. Mining of deposits of rock salt deposits is carried out by the mine method at a depth of 200-300 meters. As a result of more than a hundred years of underground work, a system of workings with a length of over 200 km was formed in the thickness of the Earth. Their size is amazing. Sometimes up to 30 meters high. A speleosanatorium for asthmatics was organized here.

The video shows the entire excursion to the salt mine from the descent to the ascent to the surface. I especially recommend it to those traveling for the first time. We visited the salt mine with my family, we liked it very much. We were the first time, we were very worried before visiting, but it turned out to be in vain. The tour guide is great, with a sense of humour. I especially recommend visiting those who have health problems (bronchi).

Recently we were in Soledar, visited a salt mine. The descent in the elevator was a little scary, but what we saw below was worth it! There are many interesting products and sculptures made of salt that you can taste) I was struck by the huge concert hall. Tour guides are very friendly and helpful

We went with a team to Soledar, got a little adrenaline and a lot of positive! I liked everything, and most importantly - it's also healing! Breathing salt-soaked air is good for you! We almost went to the sea! Rather, at the bottom of the former sea! I advise everyone to visit this wonderful place at least once. And don't forget to take warm clothes, it's cold in the mine.

Salt mines in Soledar are one of the unique places in Ukraine. Walking through the labyrinths you will see a concert hall, a football field, an underground church, as well as breathtaking salt sculptures. The most interesting thing is that during the year, a constant temperature is kept in the mines. We offer you to visit this excursion together with the travel agency "Rest for one hundred percent" You can book an excursion by phone (057.728-06-33, (067.329-17-62

I was going to Soledar for a long time, but it didn’t work out. I decided on a trip literally today for tomorrow and did not regret it. The road is very picturesque: fields, forests, small towns and villages. Soledar himself did not make an impression at first: the territory is neat, but nothing interesting. We were given a safety briefing, we were given helmets, and the descent on the miner's elevator began. For some reason, we were driving in complete darkness, but this created a feeling of something unusual.

Review of the excursion in Soledar. 28.02, 2017 with the tour operator "100% Rest" The organization at the collection point (near the Puppet Theater) is well established. Bus and tour guide arrived on time. Very satisfied with the trip. The guide Larisa told interestingly, which pleased. Not memorized text, but with jokes, proverbs. The checkpoints passed without any incidents. On arrival. everything was also without a hitch (it feels like everything was thought out in advance) The excursion to the Salt Mine is interesting even for the most sophisticated travelers.

We had a comfortable, convenient bus, the seats are located at a sufficient distance from each other, which is not unimportant during such a long journey. There was a polite smiling driver Dima, who drove carefully and in accordance with all the rules of the road. I have long dreamed of visiting the salt mines of Soledar, but somehow it didn’t work out. And now, thanks to the tour operator One hundred percent Rest, finally my dream came true. Friends, do not spare time and money for trips and impressions, these memories will remain with you forever and will burn in moments of sadness.
