Ukraine, Shepetivka
The complex of the Church of St. Joseph and the former monastery of the Fathers-Lazarites in the Baroque style is located in Izyaslav. The church remained the only functioning Catholic church in the city, and various city institutions are located in the building of the former monastery. The construction of the church of St. Joseph was started in 1747 at the expense of the owner Izyaslav, Prince P. Sangushko, according to the project of the architect P. Fontana. In the church, 7 carved altars were installed, made by three masters according to the sketches of the same Fontana, in 1753 an organ was mounted. A sculpture of the Virgin Mary was installed in front of the church, and the courtyard was surrounded by a stone wall. November 8, 1794 the church received the status of parish.
In 1819, part of the monastery was secularized to house government offices. In Soviet times, the church was used as a warehouse, then for a long time it was abandoned. In 1991, the church was returned to the city's Catholic community of St. Joseph, who restored the church. In front of the church there is a military monument in the form of a self-propelled artillery gun ISU-152.
