The Museum of Local Lore is located in the city center to the west of the Park of Culture and Leisure named after. T. G. Shevchenko. It was founded in 1940. The museum is located in the former building of the men's gymnasium, built in 1839 in the classical style. Here is a collection of more than 140 thousand exhibits - archaeological finds, numismatics, ancient icons, weapons and much more.
