Long-Range Aviation Museum
Long-Range Aviation Museum
Ukraine, Poltava
In Soviet times, the Poltava airfield was the base of the 13th Guards Dnepropetrovsk-Budapest Order of Suvorov Heavy Bomber Aviation Division, which was armed with Tu-22M3 long-range supersonic missile carriers and Tu-16 long-range jet missile carriers. After the collapse of the USSR, the division was disbanded and, according to the Ukrainian-American Agreement on the elimination of strategic nuclear weapons, the last strategic bomber TU-22M3 was cut at the Poltava military airfield in February 2006. Former pilots of the Poltava division created a museum parking lot of bomber aircraft that survived the mismanagement of the 1990s. These are Su-15, Tu-95MS, Tu-22KD, Tu-134UBL, Tu-22M2, Tu-22M3, Tu-16, An-26 aircraft and the world's largest strategic bomber Tu-160. Due to the increased status of the airfield, excursions must be agreed in advance.
