Peasant Bank (SBU)
Selyansky Bank (SBU)
Ukraine, Poltava
The two-story building of the former Noble and Peasant Land Bank - one of the most beautiful in Poltava - is located at the corner of Oktyabrskaya and Lyakhova streets. The bank building in the Ukrainian Art Nouveau style was built in 1909 by architect A. Kobelev. The central entrance is decorated with a decorative colored mosaic panel with firebirds and sculptures of sirens. The design also used multi-colored ceramic inserts. Since 1937 it has been used as an administrative building. The building was burned down in 1943 during the Nazi occupation and restored in 1948. Now the building houses the regional department of the SBU.
