St. Panteleimon Monastery is located in the center of Odessa near the railway. station. Since 1876, the Athos Compound of the Panteleimonovsky Monastery has been located on this place, hundreds of pilgrims set off from here every year to the holy places. After the October Revolution, the temple and the courtyard were closed. In 1944, the Odessa Theological Seminary was established here, transferred in 1961 to its current location, and a planetarium was opened in the building of the former Athos Metochion.
In 1991, the St. Panteleimon Church was again handed over to the Church, and the first Divine Liturgy was celebrated in it. In 1995, the St. Panteleimon Monastery was founded. After the restoration, the facade of the cathedral was decorated with mosaics, new bells were installed, the interior was decorated with new iconostases and icon cases, the treasure of the monastery are icons with relics of many saints of God.
