The monument to the outstanding singer and actor Vladimir Semenovich Vysotsky was erected in September 2012 in front of the Odessa film studio, where Vysotsky took part in the filming of eight films. The competition of 17 projects was won by the work of a creative team represented by sculptor Alexander Knyazik, architects Alexander Chernov and Vladimir Glazyrin. The main motive of the monument was the song "Sail" by Vladimir Vysotsky. The flying figure of Vysotsky against the background of torn sails, with lines of poetry on them, is depicted at the moment of a creative impulse, with arms outstretched to the sides. The bronze monument on a granite pedestal has a total height of about 4 meters.
