The monument to the Duke de Richelieu is the first monument to Odessa, unveiled in 1828. The monument to Duke is one of the main symbols of Odessa, erected to one of the first mayors of the city. The Duke de Richelieu ruled the city for 11 years and made a huge contribution to the formation and prosperity of South Palmyra. The author of the monument is the sculptor IP Martos. On the pedestal there are three high-relief images that symbolize trade, agriculture and the judiciary and are especially popular with tourists.→
