The Filiki Eteria Museum, the Odessa branch of the Greek Cultural Foundation in Athens, was opened in 1994 in the building where the secret revolutionary-patriotic organization Society of Friends was created in 1814, preparing an uprising for independence in Greece. The exposition of the museum includes a number of exhibits from
Odessa Local History Museum and copies of exhibits from museums in Greece. The Filiki Eteria Museum is divided into thematic blocks: the activities of the Greek colony in Odessa in the pre-revolutionary period; the history of the creation, structure and activities of the "Society of Friends" before and during the Greek Revolution; reconstructed room of the house where the secret society was located, with authentic household items from the first half of the 19th century.
