The Rare Book Museum is located in the city center to the west of Nicholas Cathedral. It was created on the basis of the library of Nizhyn University in 1985. More than 2.5 thousand rare books are collected here, including editions of the 17th-18th centuries, and a special place in the collection is occupied by the Gospel of 1689 of the Nezhinsky Annunciation Monastery with gilded titles.
