Skelny Temple
Ukraine, Mohyliv-Podilskyi
The rock temple on the right bank of the Bushanka River was found in 1883 by the famous Ukrainian historian and archaeologist V.B.Antonovich. On the eastern wall of the rock at the entrance to the temple, he discovered a unique rock relief - a bird sits on a tree without leaves, a kneeling man is depicted under the tree, behind which stands a deer with raised horns. In the upper part of the relief there was an inscription “Azm esm Mirobog priest Olgov”, which was erased over time. A monogram and several Latin letters are carved on the opposite wall. The temple is 10 meters long and consists of three rooms.
Until now, there is no consensus on the date of the appearance of the rock temple and the meaning of the objects depicted on its wall. To visit the rock temple, you must contact the administration of the Bush State Historical and Cultural Reserve.
