The monument to Ivan Andreevich Zubkovsky, the founder of the Mirgorod resort, a doctor and a public figure, was opened on November 25, 1998 in honor of the 150th anniversary of his birth. Monument by architect S.M. Russians and the artist M.M. Tsysia is located in the resort park and is a marble stele with a bas-relief of Zubkovsky and bronze tablets with his initials and dates of life and death "1848-1933". At the bottom of the pedestal is a bronze scroll with the inscription: "To the founder of the Mirgorod resort, zemstvo doctor, public figure, from grateful countrymen."
In 1911, Ivan Zubkovsky retired with the rank of major general and again settled in Mirgorod, where he spent his youth. In 1912, through the efforts of Zubkovsky, the first well with mineral healing water was drilled. In 1916, the city committee under the leadership of I. Zubkovsky decided to create a resort in Mirgorod. And in 1917 a balneary with 5 baths was built, a year later expanded to 14 baths.
