Ostrich farm "Straus-South" - one of the largest ostrich farms in Ukraine - was founded in Melitopol in 2002 for breeding black African ostriches, processing and selling ostrich meat, feathers, dressing ostrich skin. In 2008, a zoo was also opened, the collection of which is constantly replenished. More than 100 individuals live here: from birds to predators, there is a pool with fish. Some zoo inhabitants can be fed by entering the cages. The farm has a recreation area where you can ride donkeys. For younger visitors there is a playground.
