Melitopol Park named after M. Gorky - a city park of culture and recreation, a monument of landscape architecture, was founded in 1927. There was a children's railway, a stadium, a parachute tower, a playground. During the Nazi occupation of 1941-43, the park was destroyed, and it took several years to restore it. In 1966, the park was declared a monument of landscape architecture, in which there are about 80 species of trees and shrubs.
The park has 16 attractions for children and adults, a summer stage, a billiard room, a shooting gallery, a cafe, a town of fairy-tale heroes "Glade of Fairy Tales" is arranged, and a fountain refreshes in the center of the park. There is a unique museum of the history of the park here, where a lot of old photographs are collected and models of parts of the park that have not been preserved have been made. Melitopol Park named after M. Gorky several times received the honorary award "Golden Tree", awarded for achievements in the field of park activities.
