Monument to Bogdanov Khmelnytsky

The monument to Bogdan Khmelnitsky in Melitopol was erected in 1954, on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the treaty in Pereyaslav, at the beginning of Bogdan Khmelnitsky Avenue at the intersection with Frunze Street. The sculpture of Khmelnytsky 3.15 meters high and the cylindrical pedestal 9.65 meters high are made of reinforced concrete. During the reconstruction of the avenue in 1970, the monument was moved to its current location, at the intersection with Vakulenchuk Street. The sculpture of the glorious hetman is made in full growth with a high-raised mace in his right hand, in his left hand one can see documents embodying the Pereyaslav articles.
