The Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord (formerly the Trinitarian Church) is an architectural monument in Lviv. It is located in the center of Lviv, on Krakowska street, 21.
The building was built in 1703-1731 as a church of the Roman Catholic Trinitarian Order. In 1898, the church was rebuilt under the Uniate Transfiguration Church, designed by architect S. Gavrishkevich.
On September 20, 1948, after a service in the Transfiguration Cathedral on the steps of the temple, Father Gabriel Kostelnik, who led the process of joining the Greek Catholic Church to the Russian Orthodox Church, was killed by an OUN member.
In 1989, the church again passed into the hands of the UGCC and is called the Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord.
