Synagogue Beis Aaron ve Yisrael, Synagogue "Tsori Gilod"
Ukraine, Lviv
The synagogue "Beit Aaron beIsrael" (Hebrew is the house of Aaron in Israel) is a functioning synagogue of the Lviv Jewish community, located in Lviv on Brothers Mikhnovsky Street, 4 (former Moskovskaya Street) in the Privokzalnaya area.
In 1912, the charitable society "Tsori Gilod" ("Healing Balm", Orthodox Jews) received permission from the city master to rebuild the building of a member of the society, Moses Grifeld, built back in 1897, into a synagogue, and opened a prayer house with two halls in it. The work took place from 1923 to 1925 according to the design of the architect Albert Kornbluth. The synagogue was designed for 384 seats, the main hall with a central lamp, which was decorated with a stained glass window in the shape of a Star of David. On the eastern wall there are griffins holding tablets with commandments, on the opposite side there is an open Torah. The frieze depicts the emblems of the twelve tribes of Israel. On the northern and southern walls, the artist depicted musical instruments, the tomb of Rachel, the walls of the ancient Bet-a-Migdash, the interior of the Temple of Solomon and the tablets of the Covenant over Mount Sinai. The authors of the paintings are called Maximilian Kugel or Heinrich Mund. The prayer hall with an area of more than 200 square meters also received two galleries for women decorated with rich carvings.
During the German occupation, Lvov served as a warehouse and therefore was not destroyed; in the post-war years it was also used as a warehouse. In 1989, it was returned to the Hasidic (Karlin-Stolin) Jewish community. Services are led by Rabbi Mordechai Shlomo Bold. In 2007, the renovation of the synagogue was completed, designed by Israeli architect Aharon Oestreicher.

Polychrome paintings have been preserved in the interior of the synagogue. The synagogue has a kosher kitchen and a mikveh.
