Church of the Mother of God of Perpetual Help, Catholic church

The Church of Mary of the Snow is a religious building in Lviv, an architectural monument. Located on st. Snezhnoy, 11. Now it belongs to the UGCC and is called the Temple of the Mother of God of Perpetual Help.
Founded by German colonists in the XIV century near the trading square of ancient Lviv. It was first mentioned in documents in 1352. The original appearance was greatly changed by subsequent restructuring. Significant restorations were carried out in 1623 and 1683, in 1888-1892 the church was rebuilt by the architect Julian Zakharevich.
After the reconstruction, the church became a single-nave, basilica type with an elongated altar part, a square vestibule and a square two-tier bell tower. Previously, there were frescoes in the interior, executed in 1750-1751 by S. Stronnsky. In their place, in the 19th century, the artist E. Lepshiy made new ones imitating mosaics.
