The Franciscan Monastery is located in the center of Gorodok, west of
Exaltation Church. It was founded in the 15th century near the royal castle owned by Vladislav Jagiello. According to legend, the heart of the king is buried in the monastery dungeon. In 1772 the monastery was closed, and only in 1994 it was revived as a Greek Catholic Holy Transfiguration Monastery.
