The Cathedral of St. Apostles Peter and Paul in Lutsk is a functioning Roman Catholic cathedral.

It was built in 1616-1639 according to the project of the architect Giacomo (Jacob) Briano as a church at the Jesuit monastery. In 1773, in connection with the liquidation of the Jesuit order, the church and the collegium passed to the commission of public education, and after the fire of the cathedral church in 1781, at the request of Lutsk Bishop Felix of Tours, the chair of the Catholic bishop was transferred here (the status of the cathedral church was received only in 1787) . At this time, repair and construction work is being carried out under the guidance of architect Y. Uminsky, as a result of which the facade and interior acquire new stylistic features. The interior is richly decorated with moldings, sculptures, pilasters, and murals by Kunits, Villani and I. Pragtl. Under the church there are cellars located on several levels.

In 1948, the cathedral was closed and used as a warehouse, from 1970 to 1991 it housed the Museum of Atheism (a branch of the Volyn Museum of Local Lore).

On June 29, 1991, Lviv Bishop of the RCC Rafal Kernitsky re-consecrated the church.

Interesting architectural landmark

I liked the cathedral, they allowed me to go in and sit in the cool ....it became somehow good and calm .. .→
