The geometric center of Ukraine is located near the village of Dobrovelichkovka, Kirovograd region. This place was identified in 1989 by geodesic scientists as the geographical center of the country, and two years later a memorial sign in the form of a granite stone was erected here. And although in 2005, after more accurate research, the place of the geographical center was transferred to the Cherkasy region, the stone was not removed, but was called the geometric center of Ukraine.
