Shukhov Tower, Hyperboloid Tower

The Shukhov Tower is located on the northern outskirts of the regional center Pomoshnaya, Kirovograd region. It was built in 1934 according to the project of engineer Shukhov. The tower in the form of a hyperboloid was one of the first structures of this type. It was used as a water tower until it was blown up by the Nazis during their retreat in 1944. The tower was disabled, but the building itself survived. Since then, it has been an ornament and symbol of the city.
