The City Museum of Local History, founded in 1960, is located in an inconspicuous two-story brick building in the center of Krivoy Rog, with a total area of exhibition halls of 800 sq.m. The museum's funds include about 100 thousand exhibits: natural and archaeological collections, ethnographic materials, about 4000 works of fine and folk arts and crafts, incl. icons of the 16th-17th centuries, numismatics, photographs and documents on the history of Krivoy Rog in the 19th-20th centuries.
It is planned to build a new museum building on Metallurgov Avenue, which provides for an increase in the area of exhibition halls, the creation of a modern storage and restoration workshops, a scientific library and a conference hall. In the village of Veseli Terny there is a branch of the museum, the expositions of which are dedicated to the history of the village.
