Polessky nature reserve was created in the north of the Zhytomyr region in the upper reaches of the river. Harvest in 1968, by combining three forest areas, to preserve local natural complexes, protect flora and fauna, and reproduce natural forests. The flora of the Polessky Reserve includes 604 species of higher plants, 139 species of mosses, many lichens, fungi and algae, of which 17 species are listed in the Red Book of Ukraine. Elks and deer, wild boars, roe deer, beavers and otters, wolves and foxes, ferrets and weasels, etc. are found in the forest.
The central estate of the reserve is located in the village of Selezovka, where there is a visitor center that tells about the activities of the reserve. Near the estate, a marked tourist three-kilometer ecological trail begins with information signs indicating the location of springs, centuries-old trees, and ancient burials. Visitors are offered to spend time in a log cabin with an oven, to get acquainted with the smelting of iron from swamp ore. There is also a forester's observation tower, from which the village and part of the reserve are visible.
