The Museum of Folk Art of the Hutsulshchyna and Pokuttya is located in the center of the city of Kolomyia, in the building of the former People's House. It was opened in 1926. The 18 halls of the museum contain the richest collection of exhibits, of which there are more than 50,000: national clothes, embroidery, pottery, leather and metal products, objects of artistic processing from wood (burning, carving, inlay). In addition, there is an exposition of tapestries by local master Mikhail Bilas.
In 2007, the Yaremche
Museum of Ethnography and Ecology of the Carpathian Region was attached to the Museum of Folk Art of Hutsulshchyna and Pokuttya.
