Assumption Church of Our Lady Pirogoshcha is located on
Kontraktova Square. It was built in the middle of the XII century, but in 1935 it was destroyed by order of the Soviet authorities. In 1998 the church was rebuilt in its original form. In terms of architecture, the church was built in the Byzantine style with elements of classicism. Currently, it is the property of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Kiev Patriarchate.
