Starokievskaya Hill is the place where, according to legend, Kiy founded the city. Here, before the adoption of Christianity by Russia, pagan idols stood, and then there were fortifications of the princely citadel and the Church of the Tithes, the foundations of which have survived to this day. Today, the
Museum of the History of Ukraine is located on Starokyivska Hill, as well as a memorial stone with a quote from Nestor the Chronicler.
