The ski complex "Protasov Yar" is located on the historical area of the same name, on the right side of the Batyeva Mountain, not far from the central part of Kyiv. It was opened in 1998 as a training base for the Ukrainian Olympic teams in alpine skiing and snowboarding, a venue for specialized competitions at various levels, a training center for children and youth sports schools in the city.

There are 4 ski and snowboard tracks of varying difficulty: a children's training track, 150 m long; for beginners, 275 m long and 60 m vertical drop; the main one, 500 m long and with a height difference of 60-80 m; for athletes and experienced amateurs, 320 m long and 80 m in height - certified by the International Ski Federation FIS. A single ski lift 275 m long and a double ski lift 320 m long have been installed. Every night from Saturday to Sunday there are night skiing with unlimited use of ski lifts and access to the snow.

For those who suffer from snow

The last days on Protasov...It's +12C outside, but the snow is still holding. In general, Protasov is for those who are sick with snow. Not just sick, but seriously ill, who has snow addiction at the level of drug addiction. Two yokes, 40 meters of height difference. And a ratrak! Just enough to wiggle.→
