Kyiv University is located in the city center next to Vladimir Cathedral. It was founded in 1834 and is one of the oldest universities in the country. The main and oldest building of the university is the Red Building, which is an architectural monument. The yellow building was built in 1852, also in the classical style. The university also owns the nearby Fomin Botanical Garden.
