Kyiv Children's Railway

Small South-Western Railway, Kiev child railway station
Ukraine, Kyiv
Kyiv Children's Railway began its work on August 2, 1953. It is located in the Syrets park. The ring road is 2.8 kilometers long and consists of two stations: Yablonka and Vishenka. It passes through a ravine along a 20-meter-high viaduct. The Kyiv road is also notable for the fact that a German-made Gr-336 steam locomotive runs along it, which has been operating since its opening. The road operates on weekends from May to August.

Hey! The other day we visited the Kyiv Children's Railway. It’s special to go on May 9, because on this day, and on big holidays, a steam locomotive is launched, not a diesel locomotive. Of course, there are more people on this day than we would like, but after standing in line, you can ride in 20-30 minutes. To be honest, the impression from the trip is about the same as from ordinary railway cars. It's hot, there is a smell, vanity. But, for a change, you can try, especially since the guides are children and it is very interesting to watch them.
