The Turkish bastion is part of the northwestern fortifications of the fortification system of the Old Town of Kamyanets-Podilskyi. It represented a structure built on the difference between two terraces - the most suitable place for shelling the road leading to the castle, with high arches, with four casemates measuring 9x6 m, with loopholes for cannons and earthen parapets reinforced with wood. During the Ottoman occupation of Kamenets in 1672-99, the Turks fortified a strategically important object, after which the bastion began to be called "Turkish". In 1753, the commandant of the
fortress, the German engineer Christian Dahlke, reconstructed the fortifications, instead of earthworks, stone parapets were erected. From 1856 until the fire in May 1918, traces of which are still visible, the local theater gave performances in the bastion. In 1965, the construction of the bastion was mothballed. The Turkish bastion is a monument of urban planning and architecture of Ukraine of national importance.
