Lake Yalpug

It is considered the largest lake in Ukraine. It is 39 kilometers long and 6 kilometers wide. It should be noted that the maximum depth of the lake reaches more than 5 meters. Lake Yalpug is located in the Odessa region, through Lake Kugurluy it communicates with the water artery of Europe - the Danube River. According to one version, the name of the lake has Turkic roots, and is translated as "sugar". Apparently, because of the sugar-white shore. More than 40 species of fish live in the lake, and it is also famous for its abundance of crayfish. That is why the lake is in great demand among anglers. However, due to its picturesqueness and the surrounding wild nature, Yalpug Lake is becoming an important tourist attraction for these places.
