The memorial complex "Demianov Laz" is located on the northwestern outskirts of the city. It was opened in 1998. The complex is dedicated to the memory of political prisoners shot by the NKVD in 1941 before retreating. In total, about 600 people were executed. The memorial is a small chapel. And in 2009, a museum was founded, which presents the tragic evidence of the crimes of the regime.
