The Khotyn National Natural Park was established in September 2011 in the Chernivtsi region with the aim of preserving and recreating natural resources and historical and cultural sites of the Dniester basin in the Khotyn, Sokiryansky and Kelmenets regions. This area is characterized by deciduous forests and meadow-steppe areas on rocky reliefs. The park occupies an area of 9432 hectares, it includes three zones: recreation; industrial and reserved, in which human activity is prohibited. The park includes dozens of objects of the natural reserve fund: the Dniester reservoir with rare species of fish, caves, waterfalls, water sources. There are 520 species of plants and about a thousand species of animals in the park, 37 of which are rare.
