One of the most beautiful and well-preserved fortresses in Ukraine stands between the Southern Bug River and its tributary Buzhok - hence the name. A wonderful view opens up from the fortress walls, it is even better to explore the surroundings by climbing the watchtower. Inside the fortress there is a church and a castle, decorated with intricate stone battlements.

The castle began to be built in the XIV century. on the site of an older fortification on an elevated place. In 1540, Hetman Nikolai Sinyavsky reconstructed the castle. A new system of fortifications was created, which has come down to our times.

In terms of plan, the castle of the 16th century is an irregular triangle with powerful walls and corner towers that protrude significantly beyond the line of walls. The castle courtyard is 130 m long and 85 m wide, the walls are up to 4 m thick, and up to 17 m high in the highest places. Residential buildings and service premises were built along the inner perimeter, and the castle church was erected in the middle of the courtyard. Bogdan Khmelnitsky repeatedly stopped in the castle. Currently, the local history museum is located in the office premises of the castle.
