Pushkinskaya street is one of the central streets of the city. It goes from Constitution Square to Zhuravlevsky Spusk. It appeared at the beginning of the 19th century and for almost a century was called German (German settlers lived here). The street was rapidly built up in the early twentieth century and after the Second World War. It houses the Law Academy, the KhPI Sports Palace, buildings of many universities; monuments to Yaroslav the Wise, Pushkin, Kotsyubinsky, Mechnikov, lovers, Chernobyl survivors. Also, Pushkinskaya street is the most important transport interchange of the city.
