The Literary and Memorial Museum dedicated to the life and work of the outstanding Ukrainian philosopher was opened in 1972, 50 km from Kharkov, in the village of Skovorodinovka, Zolochevsky district, Kharkov region, on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of the birth of Hryhoriy Skovoroda. He spent the last years of his life in the estate of the landowners Kovalevsky in the village of Ivanovka, which was later renamed in his honor - Skovorodinovka. Here, on November 9, 1794, the earthly path of the thinker and poet ended.
In three exhibition halls there are editions of G. Skovoroda's books and books of writers and philosophers that he studied; paintings, sculptures, souvenirs dedicated to G. Skovoroda. Some personal belongings of the sage have been preserved in the memorial room.
On the territory of the museum there is an old park in the English style with a large pond, a 700-year-old oak, near which Skovoroda liked to meditate, an old well, a monument to Grigory Savvich by I.P. Kavaleridze, the grave of a philosopher.
