Kharkov Russian Drama Theater named after Pushkin was opened in 1933. In 1939 he was named after Pushkin, and in 1971 he received academic status. The theater building acquired a beautiful modern look in 2004 after many years of reconstruction, which began due to a fire in 1978.
The theater mainly hosts performances of works of Russian classics.
